Shoreview Pediatrics is dedicated to the well-being of our patients and the community at large. In regards to COVID-19, it is very important to slow the infection rate and “flatten the curve” here in Milwaukee.
  • We ask patients to try to stay home and practice social distancing to the best that they can – this includes those who are sick but symptoms can be managed at home
  • We are rescheduling any visits that are not urgent
  • Newborns and infant well-child visits are still recommended to stay up to date with vaccinations, these visits will be scheduled in the morning only to keep separate from sick visits.
  • If your child needs an appointment, we are asking that child to be accompanied by only one healthy adult.
  • Please bring your own toys and books as our rooms have been emptied of these – we are using extensive infection control and EPA certified cleaning measures to keep everyone safe
  • If your child has upper respiratory symptoms (cough, sneezing, runny nose) and needs to be seen, we are asking that you to wait in the car (if you drove) and call us when you arrive. We will let you know when your child’s room is ready.
  • If you arrive via bus/walking, please call when you arrive at the building.
  • We ask your child or you to hold a tissue over their nose and mouth from the outside door to our building until they arrive in their exam room with the door closed. If coming by public transportation, please keep mouth and nose covered during transit as well.
  • There will be tissues by our entryway to the building if you do not have any tissues.
We understand that there may be other well care that is urgent and will try to accommodate this as well. We will try to accommodate vaccine appointments with nurses first thing in the mornings. We are exploring Telemedicine for other visits that do not require a full body physical exam. Though we understand this is not ideal, this is just a temporary plan until we are no longer in a national emergency
We appreciate you working with us to keep our community safe!

RISK REDUCTION TECHNIQUES:
  • Practice social distancing. This means keep a coughing distance from people, which is at least 6 feet.
  • Avoided public areas. Stay at home as much as possible.
  • Do not shake hands.
  • Do not touch your face .
  • Treat everything you touch in public as a contaminated surface.
  • Don’t share a cup. Don’t share eating utensils. Don’t share a toothbrush.
  • After every outing, wash your hands and disinfect your phone. It is estimated that the virus can live for up to 96 hours on your phone.
  • Carry disinfectant with you. But if you don’t have any, know that soap works better than alcohol and disinfectants at destroying the structure of viruses.
  • Disinfect doorknobs and often-touched places, especially keyboards and phones. Also disinfect reusable shopping bags, wallets, keys.
